Moose spotting by horse back

The Moose in Lapland migrates between the high mountains summertime to the pristine forests wintertime. This trip takes you by horseback into the pine forest where the moose stays for the winter. Riding on horseback you will get quite close so there is a chance to get amazing pictures if you bring a camera.

 

After a 45 minutes transfer with minibus we reach Puoltsa. We prepare the Icelandic horses and go for a tour in the nearby forest where moose usually stay daytime. Back from the riding we will have lunch before departure

 

Price: SEK 1 590 per person. (Minimum 12 years old)

Time: Daily 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. 1 Dec 2011 – 31 Mar 2012.

Group size: Minimum 2 persons, maximum 8 persons per departure.

Included: Warm clothing, helmet and lunch.

Conditions: Due to snow conditions max. weight for riders is 90kg/198lbs.

Northern light tour on horseback

Transfer with minibus to the horse farm west of Kiruna in direction of the mountains. In the winter evening you go for a riding tour through many hundred years old forest nestled against the mountain range. Hopefully you will get to see the beautiful northern lights and maybe some moose. 

 

Back at the horse farm you will be served dinner in the goahti (Sámi hut) consisting our local specialities like game and fish. Your Sámi guide tells you about the Sámi culture while sitting round the fire.

 

Price: SEK 1 590 per person. (Minimum 12 years old)

Time: Daily 3.30 p.m. – 8.30 p.m. 1 Dec 2011 – 28 Feb 2012,

Daily 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. 1 - 31 March 2012

Wild life spotting in the mountain area

By snowmobile in careful pursuit for subarctic wildlife and spectacular views. This trip focuses on taking you to a variety of subarctic nature. There will be pristine pine and birch forests as well as barren mountains and deep valleys. After a transfer with minibus to Kalixfors our guide will meet you and give instructions about how to drive. Equipped with warm clothes you will follow the guide along the trail. After driving some hours we will stop and make a campfire at a nice spot, where lunch will be served.

 

Price: SEK 1 450 / pers, 2 p/snowmobile. SEK 1 890 / pers, 1p/snowmobile SEK   590 per child 0-12 years. Will sit behind the driver or go in a sled.

Time: Daily 9 a.m – 4 p.m. 1 Dec – 15 Apr.

Group size: Min 2 persons, max 8 persons per departure.

Included: Warm clothing, helmet, lunch.

Northern light spotting

Snowmobiles are a comfortable way to get out in nature. This trip takes us away from city lights. If the sky is clear you will see millions of stars and if you are lucky there will be a magnificent northern light. After a minibus transfer you will meet your guide who will give you instructions on how to drive a snowmobile. After control of equipment we will go out into the wilderness. Out here we will also enjoy a cup of hot coffee or tea and a sandwich before we head home.

 

Price: SEK 1 050 / pers, 2p/snowmobile. SEK 1 520 / pers, 1p/snowmobile 

SEK   500 per child 0-12 years. Will sit behind the driver or go in a sled.

Time: Daily 7.30 p.m – 1.00 a.m.  1 Dec – 31 Mar.

Group size: Min 2 persons, max 8 persons per departure.

Included: Warm clothing, helmet, coffee/tea and sandwich.
